We are proud to collaborate with Fontbonne University to actualize an end to human trafficking. In 2015, The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word adopted a corporate stance against human trafficking and in 2017 the foundation sought out an educational partner to create a curriculum that educated social service practitioners about human trafficking.
This curriculum, developed by social work faculty at Fontbonne University includes awareness & prevention models, clinical skills for counseling, and offers continuing education units (CEU) for those needing to renew practitioner licenses.
The 5 day advanced skills training program is offered, free of charge, for 30 social service practitioners throughout the St. Louis region. Together the cohort will learn about crisis intervention, stabilization of victims, and facilitate further collaboration among organizations who interact with vulnerable populations on a regular basis.
“We affirm the dignity and rights of all people and denounce human trafficking and the economic and social systems that promote it.”
