Our Priorities

At the heart of the foundation, we value efforts to advance equity, opportunity, & human dignity. These efforts often address the following topics, though Racial Equity is the overarching, all-encompassing priority for each organization or project we fund.

Youth Employment
Quality Education
Economic Justice
Food Insecurity
Juvenile Justice
Catholic Initiatives
Growing Communities
Youth Development

Our Values

Our community footprint includes under-resourced communities throughout Missouri and East Saint Louis. We focus on a place-based strategy that invests funding into specific neighborhoods.

Each year the Foundation prioritizes certain neighborhoods based on research and community need. This year we have a specific focus on Penrose, O’Fallon, Dutchtown, Gravois Park, The Ville, Greater Ville, and East St. Louis.

In all of our work, we hold true to our values of:

  • Spirituality
  • Collaboration
  • Stewardship
  • Empowerment
  • Innovation
  • Relationship

“Funding neighborhood work fosters systemic change by addressing the root causes of poverty and oppression. It fosters the confidence within individuals to dream while simultaneously creating access to the tools and resources needed to achieve those dreams.” — IWF Executive Summary, 2019

Our Grants

Our goal is to spark collaboration and relationships in the communities we serve. We fund organizations that are serving or advocating for the most vulnerable in our city.

If you’re working to advance these efforts, we would love to hear more.
