Bridget McDermott Flood

Executive Director

Bridget McDermott Flood is the founding executive director of IWF. Her passion is bringing the Incarnate Word Sisters' relational vision of the world to the Foundation's work in neighborhoods and community.

Bridget served on the White House Task Force to Reform the Neighborhood and Faith-Based Office during the Obama administration, and is on the boards of Headwaters, a nature sanctuary sponsored by the Incarnate Word Sisters, San Antonio, and FADICA, Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities. In 2016, she received the Woman of the Year Award from Voices for Women, and the Excellence for Collaboration in Philanthropy from the Gateway Center for Giving in 2014.

Bridget’s book, Blue Hole Wisdom: My Journey with the Sisters, will be published in 2020. She is a life-long South St. Louisan, a ceramic artist at her studio, Carondelet Pottery, and an avid quilter.


Michael Fitzgerald

Michael Fitzgerald has been serving children and families in the St. Louis area for 40 years. He has worked primarily in mental health and child welfare. Michael holds his undergraduate degree in psychology from West Virginia University, a Master’s degree in Social Work from Saint Louis University and a Master’s in Health Management from Webster University. Michael has both direct clinical and administrative experience.


Sister Helena Monahan, CCVI

Sister Helena Monahan has been an educator all of her life, beginning with service in the Congregation’s elementary schools and continuing at the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio. Sister most recently served as President of Incarnate Word Academy in St. Louis. Sister’s current passion is collaborating with civic and educational leaders to develop projects which will empower people and improve the quality of life in the Greater St. Louis community.

Marty Glosemeyer

Grants Administrator

Marty Glosemeyer attended Professional Business College, as well as St. Louis Community College at Forest Park for Business Management. She has over 20 years of management and administrative experience. Prior to coming to the foundation she has worked in a variety of settings including healthcare, customer relations and transportation. She was born and raised in St. Louis, is devoted to her family, and is an avid Cardinals fan.


Sister Annette Pezold, CCVI

Sister Annette Pezold has been in various Congregational ministries, such as: education, parish pastoral associate, social worker at Catholic Charities, hospitals and retirement Homes. Now retired she continues on the IWF Board and also volunteers there as well as at a nursing home and where ever else a need arises. Sister Annette enjoys staying active and being able to give her time to ministries.
